Last week, we took our two oldest grandchildren on a camping trip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. They had a blast.

We camped for three nights at Colter Bay. It was the first time camping for these two kids, the first time they had traveled with their grandparents and the first time they had been to the Tetons and Yellowstone.

The car was packed to the brim with camping gear. Thanks to Grandpa's amazing skill at getting everything into the car, we didn't have to leave anything behind.

Lauren and Logan had their own tent and helped to set it up.

Thanks to our friends, Bill and Ali Barnes, we canoed about six miles on the Snake River one evening. It was the highlight of the trip for the grandkids.

One day, we drove to Yellowstone National Park. We endured 20+ miles of road construction to get there. The park was packed with tourists.

After seeing Old Faithful erupt, we decided we had had enough of the crowds and headed back to the Grand Tetons. Both grandkids declared they liked the Tetons better than Yellowstone.
They did a one and a half mile hike to Hidden Falls. Over the three days of the trip, they saw buffalo, moose, elk, antelope, deer, osprey, eagles, otters, beavers and muskrat.

They had a great time and can't wait to do it again next summer.
