Validation

It appears that I am not the only person who was confused by the outlandish shade on the lamp in the elevator lobby of my floor. The lamp no longer looks like this:


It now looks like this:


Could it possibly be that the new shade is in response to complaints by floor residents? Or did one of the residents take matters into his/her own hands and purchased the replacement shade?

Either way, I can live with the new look.
